The Barcolana, an international sailing regatta that reached its 55th edition in year 2023, is held annually on the second Sunday of October in the Gulf of Trieste. For years, it has surpassed all records, attracting thousands of boats, for its simple course of over 10 nautical miles in a triangle with a disengagement buoy and for the presence of the Bora wind which often blows during the regatta. Being surrounded by 2,000 boats gives a unique and unforgettable emotion, especially if embarked as crew on a late 19th century Schooner.
